Event of the week: 9th Diplomatic Charity Fair hold in Budapest
On 24th November, Diplomatic Spouses of Budapest (DSB) will organize the 9th Diplomatic Fair, a charity event featuring theatre performances, gastronomic attractions, children programmes and a raffle.
This year, more than 50 countries represented by their embassies here, will come together once again to showcase their nation’s specialities – from crafts and souvenirs to food and drinks – enabling visitors to “travel and enjoy the world in one day”!
Patron of the Fair, Mrs. Anita Herczegh, spouse of the President of Hungary, will grace the event. Other guests of honour include Mrs. Szilvia Szijjártó-Nagy, spouse of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and H.E. Apostolic Nuncio Michael August Blume, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps.
For the first time, a Hungarian booth will make its presence at the Fair. Visitors can also expect fresh flowers from South Africa and fresh exotic fruits from Malaysia, specially flown in for the event.
This year, visitors can look forward to entertainment from 11 countries, including Albania, Azerbaijan, Cyprus and also host country, Hungary. As in past years, there will be a Children’s Corner and exciting raffle prizes to be won.
The Diplomatic Fair is a non-political event based on altruism, neutrality and the unity of all participants.
The aim of the Diplomatic Fair is to represent our respective countries through their culture, and as well as to raise funds to benefit communities and causes in Hungary.
