According to index.hu, the court placed a man in pretrial detention, who attacked a running woman on Margaret Island in late November, and then assaulted another woman in the 13th district, Budapest Attorney General Tibor Ibolya announced.
The man was caught by the police on Tuesday at dawn, and he was interrogated as a suspect of reasonable suspicion of two counts of aggravated assault attempt.
The suspect was escorted to the cell, from where he escaped. He jumped from the window upstairs to the inner courtyard of the police station. After a short chase, he was caught in the courtyard. He was taken back to the interrogation room and was also interrogated on reasonable suspicion of attempted prisoner escape.
The court placed the man in a 30-day pre-trial detention. The suspect and his lawyer appealed against the order, the attorney’s statement wrote.
