WOW! 22-year-old Hungarian athlete became Europe’s strongest woman
Alexandra Soós fell in love with bodybuilding and fitness after she had quit showjumping four years ago. In January 2018, she changed her focus to strength training and started powerlifting, and she took part in her first competition in March. The Hungarian athlete became a world champion the same year.
The history of women in strength athletics dates back to the 19th century, but the presence of strongwomen in sporting events only became more prevalent later. They were also common attractions in circuses where they would showcase their superhuman strength.
Alexandra is 161 cm tall and was 78 kg when she started to prepare for her first fitness competition. Currently, the athlete weighs 84 kg, and her goal is to become the world’s strongest woman, Szeretlek Magyarország reported.
Alexandra achieved her first international success in powerlifting in 2019 at the European Championship in Tiszakécske. She set the world record in two events: in the squat with 210 kg and in the deadlift with 230 kg, thus becoming the Absolute European Champion.
As an elite athlete, she was invited to the US Open, the world’s biggest powerlifting event, where she plans to break her previous records. Alexandra also found love through the sport. She met Ádám in a competition, and since then, they support each other in life and the gym.
