Szájer’s sex party scandal in Brussels has been immortalised in many ways, including a plaque on a gutter where the Fidesz MEP tried to flee from the police, a recent graffiti in Rome, and an entry in the world’s number one online slang dictionary, the Urban Dictionary. Events also inspired the internet, which resulted in a shower of memes. These are our top picks.
One of the most memorable parts of Szájer’s story seems to be the way in which the former MEP tried to escape the illegal orgy. He was climbing down a gutter when police spotted him. A gutter is eresz in Hungarian, which is the main character of the lovely memes below. Trolls even changed Fidesz’ logo so that it says eresz instead of Fidesz, and a Banksy inspired piece of art was also born.
Szájer’s mains of escape also reminded many of famous pop culture figures, including Spiderman and Eric Cartman’s superhero persona, The Coon from South Park.
Another beloved figure that came to mind for many was Santa Claus. Truth to be told, Santa climbs to get into rather than out of houses, but it is funny either way.
