CNN, one of the most famous American news channels, reported about the Hungarian Teqball and its growing popularity in the USA on its internet site. The video shows a female Teqball team who would like to take part in the Olympic Games.
CNN published a long video report on its website about the spread of Teqball in the United States. The Hungarian sports innovation, created by Gábor Borsányi, György Gattyán, and Viktor Huszár, is becoming more and more well-known in the world, but it has started to spread in the USA only lately. In the report of CNN, they show a female Teqball team, the BellaTeq, whose aim is to
include the game in the program of the Summer Olympic Games,
in which they would like to take part.
That aim concurs with the goal of the Fédération Internationale de Teqball (FITEQ), the international umbrella organisation of the sport. The organisation became a member of the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF) last November, which could be an important milestone in Teqball becoming an Olympic sport. The virtual general assembly said ‘yes’ to FITEQ with an
overwhelming, 90 pc majority.
This is not the first time that Teqball was a headline story on CNN. Two years ago, they reported about the international successes of the sport. Furthermore, they then mentioned the cooperation with the world champion Brazilian footballer, Ronaldinho.
