These are the top mistakes tourists make in Budapest! – Video
When you first go to a new place, you inadvertently run into mistakes that locals avoid. Of course, you can also prepare for these pitfalls as a tourist with a proper follow-up, especially if you watch the video below.
In the newest episode of Wolters World, Mark talks about silly mistakes tourists make when they visit Budapest and Hungary in general.
He starts right away with one of the most serious mistakes, which is trusting taxi drivers. Taxis are yellow in Budapest, but there are official companies and freelancers. It is worth trying the former because innocent tourists are less likely to be ripped off. Make sure to have a heads-up in advance.
- What happens to Budapest tourism after the setback?
- Where will tourists sleep? – half of the Airbnb accommodations disappeared from Budapest
Related to this is the matter of public transport, which is much better than many tourists would think. It is easy to get from one part of the city to another, and the journey is already helped almost everywhere by English subtitles.
However, it is essential to pay attention to one thing: always validate your ticket!
Also, many people know about the spa culture of Budapest, which is very attractive and a must-try if you come here. However, many people only visit the largest baths (Széchenyi, Gellért), which are thus crowded. It is worth trying out the smaller baths as well.
Also, be prepared for the fact that you may feel the service is slower than you are used to. It is also important to know that it is impossible to pay in Euros everywhere in Hungary because the Forint (HUF) is the official currency.
Details and the rest of the mistakes can be learned from the video:
We hope this can help you with tourist and travel information for Hungary and Budapest.

In 1992 I was ripped off and insulted by a cab driver near Keleti rail station under the eyes of an indifferent policeman, just minutes after coming by train from Prague . I spent only 4 days in Hungary ;so ,my only mistake was to want to visit Hungary !
Whole video of pronouncing Budapest wrong !! Add this to the video seeing as this mispronunciation offends Hungarians.
