Biden administration interfering in Hungary’s 2022 general elections, says Hungarian deputy state secretary
A Hungarian diplomat said that to his US counterpart at a Washington event organised to celebrate the Hungarian October 23 revolution of 1956. Ferenc Dancs, the deputy state secretary for North America of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, said that the USA sponsors broadcasts on Radio Free Europe intended to undermine the Hungarian prime minister.
Hungary expected help in 1956
PM Viktor Orbán did not mention the USA or Joe Biden in his October 23 speech in Budapest. However, he highlighted that, in 1956, Hungarians expected help from the USA. Sadly, nobody came from the West, only the Soviet tanks from the East. He said that currently, they did not ask anything from the USA. But George Soros and his network want to occupy Hungary and degrade it to a province of their empire.
According to washingtonexaminer.com, a government official claimed that the Biden administration means to help the Hungarian opposition win in 2022. The American news website says that Dancs tied events of 1956 with the current tensions between Washington and Budapest.
He highlighted the same as PM Orbán in his speech:
Hungarians expected help from the USA in 1956 but received nothing. Therefore “they have learned the lesson that, in times of trouble, we can only count on ourselves” –
he added.
The response of the audience was a murmur of shock, the news outlet says. “Very, very weird,” said a senior European official. “Even if there’s a concern, you won’t put it into a speech like that”, washingtonexaminer.com wrote.
Dancs continued and said that the restart of Radio Free Europe was because the
Biden administration would like to “interfere in our general elections.”
Audience shocked
Before Dancs’s accusations, State Department Assistant Secretary Karen Donfried gave a warm tribute to Hungary’s independence and the two nations’ historical bond. “The American people and the people of Hungary know that we can never take our freedom for granted,” she said. “We must uphold democratic values at home and abroad, striving always to ensure that our actions are worthy of our ideals and all those who have sacrificed to secure and defend them”, – she added.
Later her team cleared that they have no knowledge of “any basis” for Dancs’ allegations. They added that
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty enjoys “complete editorial independence” under federal law.
Dancs’s verbal attack was unexpected because Mihály Varga, the minister for finance, praised the Hungarian-American economic and trade relations last week. Moreover, Péter Szijjártó, the minister of foreign affairs, called the Hungarian-American relationship a success story. Furthermore, he highlighted just one day before the October 23 commemoration that US companies have investeíd 1.4 billion USD in Hungary since 2015 – napi.hu reported.

Lets not get to “head” stuffed over what comes out of the Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse land – or better still – DIZZYLAND.
Lets just focus on us – building getting our own house in order – by use of Democracy.
Democracy – is Constantly – Reforming it-self.
Hungary – our Sovereignty – Liberty and Freedom – our FUTURE – our WAY.
The stupidity of the suggestion just highlights the hubris of people like Danc. Outside of Hungary no one knows or cares who he is. Within Hungary, much the same applies. I live in Budapest, a 5 minute walk from the parliament building. .
Senile Biden is not interfering in anything. Most of the time he has no clue where he is or what he is. He is a nothing.
His globalist, Marxist handlers are interfering in Hungarian elections and they will continue to do so in the future. It is a good thing that Ferenc Dancs brought it up and put things in their proper place. Radio Free Europe is not independent. It is a tool of American foreign policy. At one time Hungarians trusted Radio Free and Voice of America. That trust turned to distrust after they lied to us about impending help against the Soviets in 1956.
The Orbán cabinet doesn’t have to worry about Radio Free Europe influencing Hungarians. No trust, no influence.
Senile Biden’s globalist, Marxist handlers mistakenly believe that they can steal the Hungarian election as they stole the election from President Trump. I wouldn’t worry about that because our elections are secure, unlike the American elections. If America had strict voter registration and voter identification laws as we do, President Trump would be in charge of America, not senile Biden’s globalist, Marxist goons.
Hungarians need not worry but it was ok that Prime Minister Orbán set the record straight.
The American people are our friends but senile Biden’s globalist, Marxist handlers are not.
God bless Hungary and God bless America!
Jon Woods, DNH sees a contradiction between Hungary having excellent relationship with US companies and the American people general. I see no contradiction.
Stating historical facts about events surrounding the Hungarian Uprising in 1956 should be considered and accepted in proper context. Many of American friends expressed their regret and in some cases shame that the US government didn’t help Hungary against the Soviets.
It is a mistake to confuse the political leaders of a country with its people. The American people are good, decent people. The politicians are often low-life and not representative of people. It is hard to explain but true.
There is a saying that “people do get the government they deserve”. It is a catchy phrase but very often not true.
Maybe the USA should send some election observers to Hungary on how to conduct on honest election…
