VIDEO: Sundance award-winning film to be screened in Hungary
Based on a true story, Hive will be screened on 25 January at the Uránia National Film Theatre in the original language with English and Hungarian subtitles.
The Uránia National Film Theatre, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo, is presenting Hive for one screening only. The screening is the opening event of a year of celebrations to mark the 15th anniversary of Kosovo’s independence and the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kosovo and Hungary.
Blerta Basholli’s film, which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, is an inspiring story about a woman and the power of survival, urania-nf.hu reports.
Fahrije’s husband disappeared during the 1998-99 war in Kosovo. She is struggling with financial problems, so she starts a farming business. However, her business creates conflicts within the patriarchal tradition. Fahrije is fighting for her family and her business in a completely hostile environment.
Starring Yllka Gashi, Aurita Agushi, Kumrije Hoxha and Adriana Matoshi, IMDB reports. HIVE will be screened in Albanian with Hungarian and English subtitles on 25 January at the Uránia National Film Theatre.
