Will the Hungarian foreign minister resign due to the Russian cyber attacks?
Groups of the parliamentary opposition are porposing an extraordinary session of parliament over Russia’s cyber attacks against the foreign ministry, to be held on May 27.
Bence Tordai, group leader of the Párbeszéd party, said a recently published document “proves what we had surmised, that Putin’s hackers had practically overtaken the Hungarian government’s IT systems and broke into the whole system of the foreign ministry.”
“It has been known since at least 2017 that practically there is no counter-intelligence against Russia; a political decision was made not to protect Hungary against Russia’s hybrid warfare,” Tordai said. “What we see here is not sovereignty but the attitude of a puppet state,” Tordai added.
The opposition has drafted a resolution to condemn the Russian attack, including an investigation and ramifications of the incident, Tordai said.
Hungarian government lied about the Russian attack?
The Democratic Coalition, former PM Gyurcsány’s party, demands Szijjártó’s resignation. aHang.hu already started an online petition and already collected more than 11 thousand signatures. Their target is 15 thousand and they will send their demands to the opposition chairman of the National Security Committee of the Hungarian Parliament, Zoltán Sas.
Several government members and leaders of Orbán’s Fidesz party claimed before the 2022 general elections that the Russians did not commit cyber attacks against the Hungarian foreign ministry. Documents acquired by the Hungarian press clearly show that they did not tell the truth.

No one in the Fidesz government will ever resign over something related to providing support to Russia and even going so far as to undermine Hungary’s own security. They will make up any story to make Hungarians shrug it off and Hungarians have resigned themselves somewhat to their powerlessness to oppose this government. If you talk to young people in Budapest they are very pessimistic about the future of this country and they feel hopeless. The only thing left to do is leave Hungary. I have tried to post a comment on the article about Orban’s son with Hungarian military intelligence but keep getting an error message. You can be sure that this regime actively monitors anything negative posted about itself on-line and would be most particularly sensitive to a story about potentially traitorous activities involving Orban’s son.
The Foreign Minister is a “Love Child” of Victor Orban, as is the Finance Minister – Mihaly Varga.
It’s a “War of the People” – the citizens / population of Hungary, from Cities, towns, villages and Hamlets, they will decide the FATE or on-going support of the Orban – Fidesz Government.
If Hungarians by now throughout the width and breath of Hungary, don’t realize there Fate, the distillation of Democracy, growing relationships / partnerships with China & Russia, returned to a Dictatorship “regime” of Government under Communism, besides the MASS on-going exodus out of Hungary from people of all ages and from different “stations in life” – the Economy in TATTERS, with no light of improvement on the horizon, it’s a peoples war, to ensure in SOLIDARITY the Orban – Fidesz Government are REMOVED, voted out of Office.
“War of the People” – through SOLIDARITY in an ORDERLY conducted fashion, not being the aggressors but by what use of DEMOCRACY is left in Hungary, exercise it’s RIGHT to orderly oppose what Victor Orban and his Fidesz Party are undertaking carrying out in Hungary.
Hungarians – in cities, towns, villages and hamlets – are you HAPPY what over 14 years the Orban – Fidesz Government have delivered you and DELIVERED Hungary ???
Citizens – the FUTURE – what’s your OPINION ???
Orderly, by SOLIDARITY – best means of mounting a War of the People to out the present Fidesz Government, led by Victor Orban, if we are to have a FUTURE.
Why should Szíjjártó resign? He’s the most truthful and trusted foreign minister in Europe.
The most important job of any government is to protect the country and its people from attacks by foreign countries. Any government that fails to do that or refuses to do that must be replaced. What is the point of buying the latest military weapons or equipment when you are allowing foreign intelligence agencies to infiltrate the Foreign Ministry, the Police, the Military and the National Security Agencies. Your allies can no longer trust you.
Mr. Szijjarto was appointed for the term. Replacing ministers to placate socialist does not produce results. Mr. Szijjarto is the most capable FM in the whole of EU and North America.
Freedomofspeech and Donald J. Trump, will again make America Great.

I am wondering that most commentators think that Hungarian tech workers are daftheads. Does anyone believe, that inventors of ArchiCAD, or other great tech programs, that Hungarian employees would not pick up traces of hacking?
Going back in history, known double agents have greatly helped one side or other depending on their loyalty. Good examples are Burgess, Meredith and MacLean, British spies, betrayed Britain and eventually defected to the Soviet Union.
There was Operation Mincemeat. Using a dead body with false papers, the British managed to convince the Germans that they meant to attack Greece and Sarnia instead of Sicily. The caper was successful, and Germans moved tanks and men from France.
Disinformation and double agents are common use. The Hungarian agency will not tell the population what tricks they played. Too bad the info was leaked, and this channel was no longer available for disinformation.
If I were you, I would give more credit to Hungarian compatriots and tech workers.
