Orbán cabinet says fuel prices in Hungary are high due to the Biden administration and Ukraine
The National Economy Ministry said the Ukrainian threat to crude supply along with U.S. sanctions was lifting vehicle fuel prices in a statement issued on Saturday.
The ministry pointed to the impact of U.S. sanctions targeting a “shadow fleet” exporting Russian crude as well restrictions on Serbian oil company NIS. It also noted the shutdown of the Druzhba pipeline at the start of January as a result of the Russia-Ukraine war.
The ministry stressed that the government would do everything in its power in the interest of families and businesses to ensure security of supply as well as stable vehicle fuel prices. The government aim remains to guarantee that prices at the pump in Hungary remain under the average in neighbouring countries, it added.
The average price of petrol in neighbouring countries stood at the equivalent of HUF 637/litre during the reference period, HUF 1 over the price in Hungary, while the price of diesel averaged HUF 654/litre, HUF 1 under the price at the pump in Hungary, the ministry said.
The data show prices at the pump in Hungary are in line with the average price in neighbouring countries, it added. The government is prepared to intervene if prices in Hungary exceed the average in neighbouring countries, the ministry said.

BLAME, accountability, the taking of responsibility for ones decisions and actions, ownership of decision making, – the accepting of being WRONG – admitting WRONGFULNESS – fabrication of Fact & Truth through PROPAGANDA – the constant, by all available means – the “veiling” of TRUTH – it continuous to be the “Toxic Culture” – the CREED – of the FAILED Government, the Orban led Fidesz Government of Hungary.
BLAME – and what are we DEALING with – having to live in – that has NO light at the “end of the tunnel” – other than HOPE, through the DELIVERY of the Orban / Varga – the Fidesz Government of Hungary ???
CHAOS – worse than millions upon millions of Hungarians can understand, can FACE – or don’t want to know nor care about, or WORSE – won’t ACCEPT – the Orban / Varga financial and economic PATH they sent Hungary on has been continues on being, that will WORSEN, a country, that its overall situation is a DISASTER – complicated – knowing FACT & Truth as we DO, but NEVER forgetting, the “deeper” hidden problems – the deeper DANGERS – they will have IMPACT on Hungary – our FUTURE.
The BLAMERS – time has passed to DISPOSE of them.
Fortunately this may be the last time that Fidesz can blame anything on the Biden Administration after Trump takes over tomorrow. The biggest danger would be for the Russian war on Ukraine to end because that would end another Fidesz excuse for Hungarian problems. Fidesz would also need to find a new excuse to further extend its’ dictatorial rule by decree that has been going on for over four years now. Fortunately Fidesz still has the “Soros Network” to lay blame on for any Hungarian problems.
