Tragedy: 38-year-old Hungarian police detective dies suddenly

Péter Rózsás, a detective of the Budaörs Police Department, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 38. He was on his way home on Thursday evening when he collapsed in the street. Despite immediate medical attention, his life could not be saved.
He never made it home to his family
The tragic news was shared on the Biatorbágy Crime Prevention community’s Facebook page. According to their statement, Péter was heading home to his family when he suddenly fell ill. “Despite the fast medical response, there was nothing more that could be done,” they wrote.
Following the emergency call, every on-duty police officer and local patrol immediately rushed to the scene, hoping they could still help. But, as the community post put it, “the miracle did not happen—Péter passed away on the spot.”
A dedicated officer remembered by his colleagues
Colleagues described Péter Rózsás as a cheerful, committed detective who loved his profession and dedicated his life to helping others. He played a significant role in solving several crimes in Biatorbágy.
“Péter truly loved his job; he was a real police officer whose vocation was to help others. Now he is part of the heavenly police force, smiling down at us and supporting our work from above,” the heartfelt tribute read.
A community in mourning
His sudden death has left both the police force and the local community in shock, as Péter had been closely involved with local crime prevention efforts. The Biatorbágy Crime Prevention group expressed their deepest condolences to his family, adding: “Rest in peace, Péter, we will never forget you.”
The loss of the 38-year-old detective is deeply felt by those who knew him, as he leaves behind a legacy of service, dedication, and care for the community.
