Budapest — The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Hungary marked the Kingdom’s 95th National Day with a high-level reception at the InterContinental Budapest ballroom.
Ambassador Majed Abdulaziz M. Al Abdan’s address
H.E. Ambassador Majed Abdulaziz M. Al Abdan welcomed H.E. Mátyás Hegyaljai, Chief Advisor to Hungary’s Minister of Interior, alongside officials and ambassadors from friendly countries. Framing the reception within Saudi Arabia’s historic unification in 1932 under King Abdulaziz, the Ambassador noted that under continued wise leadership the Kingdom has become “an influential regional and global force,” and “an international destination in economy, culture, energy, and tourism.”
He placed special emphasis on Vision 2030 as a global model for economic diversification and human investment, referencing landmark initiatives such as NEOM, The Red Sea, Qiddiya, and AlUla, as well as advances in renewable energy, technology, and tourism.

Addressing regional diplomacy, the Ambassador reaffirmed the Kingdom’s firm position on the Palestinian cause, supporting a two-state solution with an independent Palestinian state on 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital. He highlighted the High-level International Conference co-hosted by Saudi Arabia and France in New York (July 2025), which produced the New York Declaration, later adopted by the UN General Assembly on September 12, 2025.
Turning to bilateral ties, he underlined the exceptional momentum in Saudi–Hungarian relations during the 30th anniversary year of diplomatic relations, citing: the visit of Saudi Minister of Justice Dr. Walid Al-Samaani to Budapest, a Saudi Shura Council delegation meeting Hungary’s Parliamentary Friendship Committee, and the historic visit of Hungary’s Defense Minister to the Kingdom. He also noted the Saudi–Hungarian Business Forum in Budapest last May, which connected 100+ Hungarian companies with Saudi private-sector partners across energy, digital transformation, tourism, water management, and technology.
