WizzAir and easyJet launch new flights from Budapest
The airline companies Wizz Air and easyJet announced the launching of altogether 5 new flights from Budapest, report turizmusonline.hu and index.hu. The new destinations include German, Portuguese and Dutch locations.
Responding to an existing demand of customers, easyJet launches new direct flights from the Budapest Airport to Schiphol, Amsterdam. The flights will become available from the 6th of February, 2017 and operate 3 times a week: on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The availability of the Airbus A319 planes between the Hungarian and Dutch capital cities is especially suitable for passengers on business purposes and for those who would like to go on a shorter holiday to Amsterdam.
Moreover, Wizz Air also opens the road to further destinations, as they launch direct flights from Budapest to Faro, Hannover, Bergen and Lamezia Terme. The Airbus A321 is planned to take passengers on a journey from April 2017.
Besides, they announced the expansion of two of the already operating flights: instead of 2, 3 flights a week are said to become accessible for travellers from Budapest to Liverpool and to Nice. Thanks to the new flights, 56 destinations are said to be available from the Hungarian capital.
Notably, Wizz Air is a shareholder of 29.2% on the Hungarian aviation market, has 72 planes and 2800 employees in its fleet and has transported 21.5 million passengers so far this year, of whom 2.5 million were departing from Budapest. Whereas by the end of the year the company is expecting to have had a traffic of over 3.5 million.
