The dream destinations of Hungarians

Turizmusonline.hu writes that, according to a recent survey, Hungarians would like to visit exotic islands and the biggest cities of the world, if their decisions weren’t limited by anything.
If you could travel to any place in the world, where would you go? This was the question that repjegy.hu asked its visitors. They received more than 32,000 answers in one month, based on which they put together the top list of dream destinations for Hungarians. The list contains ageless favourites and some surprising choices as well.
- Bora Bora, French Polynesia
The survey was conducted in September-October, when the weather slowly starts to take a cold turn in Hungary. So it’s not surprising that many people desire a tropical island, palm trees and sandy beaches. Bora Bora’s 10th place is quite classy if we are aware that it competed with all types of travel destinations in the world.

- London, United Kingdom
London always has a secured place on a list as it is one of the most popular cities in the world. Its diversity has something to offer to all travellers, let it be art, entertainment or sightseeing. London is modern and historic, multicultural and very British, and lively and calm at the same time. With one word, it is everything you might be looking for.

- Sydney, Australia
The world’s biggest country and smallest continent is quite an attractive destination. Even though it’s very far away from Hungary, walking on top of the Sydney Tower, admiring the Opera House and petting koalas and kangaroos are all worth the 30 hour flight.

- Bali, Indonesia
Peace, homeliness, exoticism. These are usually what travellers look for in the pearl of Indonesia, Bali. It is characterised by imposing sea coasts, rich culture, exciting gastronomy and the ultimate exotic environment. Who would say no to a trip to Bali?

- Bangkok, Thailand
Thailand’s capital city is controversial at the first sight. Temples, markets, bustling, and chaotic transport – the city first baffles you, and then captivates you. It seems like many Hungarians are attracted by the colourful whirl of the city.
