A mini Christmas town to open in Castle Garden Bazaar’s advent market
Omega concert, Erika Miklósa and the Hungarian Virtuosos Chamber Orchestra’s night, Sleeping Beauty ballet, Christmas back in the day exhibition, street food, ice-rink and interactive kids’ playground – travelo.hu writes that the Castle Garden Bazaar welcomes visitors with Europe’s biggest candle installation and further amazing programmes from the 27th of November until the 24th of December.
The Christmas spirit of 20th century family gatherings will be presented at the “Angel’s music candlelight” Christmas back in the day exhibition in the Southern Palaces, while the performances of the “Sing with merry joy” advent choir festival will evoke homely, festive memories every weekend under the cupolas of the Gloriett.
A special kids’ winter-world will come to life in the Event Hall and its aula every Advent Sunday between 3 pm and 7 pm, where children can make Christmas lanterns, lampions, baubles, garlands and small gifts. They will also have the chance to decorate gingerbread cookies and make Christmas fondants. There will be an interactive toyhouse for the smallest ones, along with kids’ shows, concerts, dances and an ice-rink.
Visitors can also take part in special candle lighting, where they can meet popular writers, performers every Advent Sunday, and light the candles of the advent wreath together. The almost 7 metre tall advent candle installation made by Hello Wood will be set up in front of the Bazaar.
The curiosity of this year’s advent programme series will be the Christmas market in front of the Castle Garden Bazaar. You can buy the handicraft products of the Association of Hungarian Folk Artists in the mini town built from Hello Wood’s unique wooden cottages.
It wouldn’t be a Christmas market without delicacies: a team from the Hungarian Street Food Association will welcome guests with the best bites in a calefactory tent set up in the middle of the market. Make sure to visit the open kitchen if you want to enjoy amazing meals and a fantastic panorama.
