Bükfürdő thermal water made a miracle

Change language:
The population is under 3,000 while the number of the guest-nights is 800,000. The thermal water of Bükfürdő made a miracle with the city, too, as hirado.hu reports.
The city lived from the agriculture in the first half of the last century, but, fortunately, the petroleum hunters got there at the end of the 50s and found thermal water instead of “black gold”.
The very first spa was open only in the summer, but from the 70s those who wanted to get better could enjoy the thermal water all year around. Now the place consists of 32 pools, 5,200 square metres of water surface and 14 hectares of park and other facilities. The thermal water revived the village itself too, more than 300 families take visitors, not to mention the hotels, including the newest one – says the program of Kossuth radio called Hajnal-táj.

Western Transdanubia is the third most popular region in terms of tourism. There is more and more emphasis on conference-tourism as a result of large investments, like the just-opened Caramell Premium Resort, which costed HUF 3.5 billion.
