Algerian migrant attacks guard at Kiskunhalas camp
Budapest, June 9 (MTI) – An Algerian inmate at the Kiskunhalas migrant centre attacked a guard at the migrant facility in Kiskunhalas, in southern Hungary, the government spokesman said at his regular press briefing on Thursday.
The incident occurred when the 27-year-old man was being taken to be questioned, Zoltán Kovács said.
The spokesman repeated the government’s position that “Hungary’s laws apply to everybody” and noted that “detainees at Kiskunhalas violated those laws when, for example, they crossed the border illegally”.
The incident “demonstrates the problems the whole of Europe and Hungary are facing,” Kovács insisted.
