Automotive companies lift industrial output in April
Budapest, June 12 (MTI) – A strong performance by the automotive industry as well as output growth in the computer, electronic and optical products segment supported growth in Hungary’s industrial sector in April, data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Friday showed.
Industrial output grew by 6.3 percent year-on-year in April according to both unadjusted and workday-adjusted data, KSH said.
Output growth slowed from a 11.6 percent increase in March.
Domestic sales edged up 0.6 percent in April. Export sales were up by 8.2 percent.
In a month-on-month comparison, industrial output edged down 0.1 percent in April from the preceding month.
In the first four months of this year, industrial output was up by 7.6 percent.
