Budapest to launch area warden service at busy squares

The Budapest Public Utilities Company will launch an area warden service in six busy squares of the capital in the coming weeks, mayor Gergely Karácsony said on his Facebook page on Wednesday.
The six areas affected are Blaha Lujza, Deák Ferenc, Etele, Örs vezér and Széll Kálmán Squares and the Kőbánya-Kispest metro terminal, he added in the post.
Area wardens will wear a uniform bearing the Budapest Public Utilities logo, performing their duties from dawn till late in the evening, Karácsony said.

“The cleanliness of Budapest, our shared home, is our common cause: we are working hard on it, purchasing new equipment, having new rubbish bins designed and launching an area warden service. But we also have to look after our shared home together,” the mayor said.
