Budapest to attend MIPIM real property expo in Cannes
Budapest, February 9 (MTI) – Budapest will participate in MIPIM, the world’s largest real estate exhibition, in Cannes from March 14 to 17, deputy mayor Alexandra Szalay-Bobrovniczky told a press conference on Thursday.
At the expo, Budapest will promote the image of a real property boom and major development projects in recent years, she said.
Erno Takacs, head of the Real Property Development Roundtable, noted that in 2016, Budapest saw real estate development worth a combined 2 billion euros, three times as much as in 2006.
László Baan, government commissioner in charge of Budapest’s Liget Project, a scheme under which new museums are planned to be built in the City Park, said that the project has been selected as one of the four best such schemes in the world, and had a chance to win the expo’s grand prize.
