As featured on markandmore.nlcafe.hu, the Budapest Central European Fashion Week took place again in 2018, in the Castle Garden. The event was full of spectacular appearances, special performances and, of course, gorgeous clothes.
The fashion week took place between 27th and 29th of April, with over 20 fashion shows and several colourful presentations from abroad – they are becoming more known and more popular in Hungary as well.
During a presentation, it is still models that visitors can observe. However, unlike on a traditional catwalk, in these cases, they are in a furnished area and only move little or not at all, so that guests can get a look at the clothes-creations from a closer proximity.
The event itself was preceded by days of trying on clothes so that each model can find the perfect fit. Then there was a fashion dinner where a plethora of bloggers, designers, influencers and journalists were present, both from Hungary and abroad.
Márk Lakatos, a Hungarian stylist and journalist, was a central figure in the organisation of the Budapest fashion week but he is active overseas, too – he has witnessed many fashion shows all over the world, including Krakow and Tokyo, and has plans to go to Malta, too. Among his tasks was to invite people to sit in the front rows – meaning he, along with the students of his stylist school and the consent of the designers, chose the people to sit in the very front throughout the show, wearing the designer clothes.
With international brands, it is a customary thing that celebs who love the designer attend the event wearing their clothes.
It is becoming more and more common in Hungary, too, that stars have their favourites and are happy to promote the clothes in the front row.
Of course, apart from the clothes, models, as well as guests, needed excellent hair stylists and makeup artists and also a place to get ready. Moments Hotel provided the location this time, and the hair professionals of Kevin Murphy and the makeup artists of L’Oréal helped make the day extra special for the participants.
Last but not least, some farewell pictures from the spectacular shows!
