Budapest Polish parish given St. John Paul II relic
Budapest, September 20 (MTI) – The Polish Catholic Church on Sunday presented the Polish Personal Parish with a relic of St. John Paul II.
The relic was placed in the Roman Catholic Parish Church in Kobanya by Cardinal Peter Erdo, Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest. In his mass, Erdo expressed hope that the relic would be a source of strength for the Polish parish and the missionary work of Budapest’s Catholic community.
The cardinal said the friendship between Hungary and Poland was a foundation on which faith and the community could grow.
Erdo said Pope John Paul II had been a “shepherd in the world of global transportation and modern communication” and his words were heard the world over. He said John Paul II had an “incredibly strong aura” and meeting him provided joy, even in his final years.
