Budapest’s birthday
Budapest is celebrating its 150th birthday this year, with a range of activities, promotions and discounts for residents and tourists alike.
“The Budapest Transport Centre is joining in the festivities by offering a special deal for the 150th anniversary of Budapest. On 17th November, a parents’ day ticket priced at 150 HUF will grant unlimited travel on all BKK lines throughout the day. This exclusive ticket can be purchased from 14th November 2023 onwards, specifically through BudapestGO and other mobile ticketing apps,” Budapest Transport Centre said in a statement.
The birthday ticket can be used from 0:00 to 23:59 on 17 November, allowing journeys initiated within this timeframe to conclude afterward. BKK said that this is the perfect opportunity to experience the capital’s public transport if you haven’t yet done so.
The BudapestGO app has already been downloaded by more than 3.5 million people since its launch and is used regularly by more than one million customers, index.hu writes.
