Budapest is the best place to visit in winter, says Condé Nast Traveler

Budapest was yet again featured in the top picks of Condé Nast Traveler. Condé Nast Traveler is an American travel magazine which is published by Condé Nast. So far, the magazine has won twenty-five National Magazine Awards, so it is a big deal to be featured in one of their articles. According to the magazine, Budapest is one of the six best places to visit in winter (whole list at the end of the article). Keep on reading to see why they love Budapest so much.

On the 1st of December, Condé Nast Traveler published an article titled “The Best Places to Go This Winter” written by Paul Rubio. The article discusses the six best places to visit in winter time according to the magazine. Budapest has the third place on their list.

The article argues that:

“Almost thirty years after the fall of communism, Hungary’s capital has reclaimed its title as Paris of the East.”

Condé Nast also calls Budapest the “crown jewel of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.” The article’s author appreciates that Budapest is a city where the old meets the new. Thanks to the many investments that have been made in recent years, modern and high-design projects have been carried out in Hungary’s capital, while the city still managed to keep (and renovate) the unique architectural pieces from the past, retaining its historic aesthetics.
