Capa exhibition in Florence closes Italy-Hungary cultural season
Florence, January 10 (MTI) – An exhibition dedicated to world-renowned Hungarian photographer Robert Capa opened in Florence on Friday evening as the last programme of the Hungarian-Italian cultural season.
The show, entitled Capa in Italy in 1943-1944, presents 78 b/w images from the months of WWII in the National Alinari Museum of Photography.
Hungary’s Human Resources Minister Zoltan Balog, who attended the opening, evaluated the cultural season as a highly successful series of events.
The minister told MTI that the year-long season had featured more than 100 events including exhibitions, concerts, film festivals, as well as culinary and fashion shows in major cities across Italy.
For Hungary, Balog noted the ongoing “world-class” exhibition entitled “From Caravaggio to Canaletto” in the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts.
As another sign of success, recent data by the Hungarian Tourism company show a ten percent increase of Italian visitors coming to Hungary, Balog said.
