The police seized two Serbian men after a car chase. They wanted to rob a jewellery shop in Debrecen.
The two men attacked the shopkeeper
A resident of Debrecen filed a report through the emergency phone number, according to the Hajdú-Bihar County Police Headquarters, when she noticed that two men had attacked a third in front of a jewellery shop, and two of them started to beat the third one. However, while she was making the report, the two attackers fled the scene, says 24.hu.
The police in Debrecen set off to search for the perpetrators fleeing in a yellow car. One of the police cars spotted the yellow car downtown a few minutes after the announcement and started following them while notifying his colleagues.
Car chase in Budapest
A 16-year-old driver who did not have a driving licence have purposefully collided with a police car, sweeping away a police officer in Budapest in the early hours of Friday, Hellómagyarreported.
Police cars tried to block the path of the fleeing car from almost every direction. The driver started panicking, and soon after, afraid of all the police cars following them, the yellow car crashed into some cars parked nearby just after missing a turn. The two men then started running, but the police caught and handcuffed them within a few metres.
The police stated that the two Serbian men entered the jewellery shop and immediately attacked, one of them pointing a gas and alarm gun at the shopkeeper. Then, they both started punching and beating him. The shopkeeper tried to defend himself, so they started to fight. The robbers then tried to pack jewellery into a black bag, but eventually, they had to flee, leaving both the gun and the bag behind.
The two men confessed everything
The 46-year-old Serbian man and his 37-year-old brother, suspected of armed robbery, gave detailed confessions during their interrogation. The brothers were detained, and a motion was made for their arrest, says local newspaper dehir.hu.
