Check out the best craft beers in Hungary — PHOTOS

Change language:

Hungary is famous for its gastronomy. Spicy dishes, Hungarian paprika, fish soup, goulash, special desserts, and delicious wines are familiar to everyone. However, it is perhaps a lesser-known fact that there are many good craft beers as well. We will show you the best Hungarian craft breweries.

Monyoland

Over the past 5 years, Monyo produced more than 80 different types of beer. In addition to Hungary, you can find their beers all over Europe and even in Mexico, Canada, and China.

They have attended many prestigious beer festivals, and their beers have won numerous awards.

Their goal is to produce and market uncompromising beers. If you go to Hungary, visit one of their bars, or you can even order beer to your home.

Mad Scientist

“Madness from Budapest challenging almost everything you know about beer,”

they write on their website. That is what characterises them the most. They put the bar high because they think the expectation is the best part. In addition to the constantly changing offer, merchandise products are also available from their webshop. In the summer, there are two venues for those looking to have fun. In the city centre, MADHOUSE has sports broadcasts and various fine food, while MADKERT has a family atmosphere, beer benches, a playground, table tennis, and a cornhole as well. Do not miss Liquid Cocaine and Mango Bay from their regular beer selection.

  1. Having been this side of the bar for over 50 years drinking beer I can say I’m more than qualified. The vast majority of these ‘ Hagyományosan készült’ beers are rubbish!! There are some good ones out there, but VERY few. I am ‘CAMERA’ certified . (unsatisfied b*st*rd).

  2. I find the name Liquid Cocaine highly offensive! Trying to make it seem like the scourge of society who commit the most crimes, neglect the most children, cost the most to healthcare and other social programs AFTER they destroy their own careers and families is a ‘socially acceptable’ indulgence? Shameful promotional device to name a craft beer that.
