Chinese terracotta soldiers to be on show in Budapest
Budapest, January 29 (MTI) – The first life-sized terracotta soldier has been unpacked at the Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest where it will be displayed as part of The Treasures of Ancient China exhibition from February 6.
The exhibition to feature more than 150 objects will include two terracotta soldiers, one bending on its knees and another standing, from the collection depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China in 221–210 BC.
Hungarian sinologist Gyorgyi Fajcsak said original terracotta soldiers had last been on display in Hungary in the National Museum in 1987.
The upcoming exhibition will present objects from the Neolithic period to the 18th century and will run through April 19, she said.
