Budapest, October 29 (MTI) – Human Resources Minister Zoltan Balog and central bank governor Gyorgy Matolcsy laid the cornerstone for a new economic university campus in Kecskemet in central Hungary on Thursday.
Balog said the new campus will serve the Hungarian economy and the national strategy. The colleges of Kecskemet and Szolnok will be merged to set up a new university for the region, he added.
The newly set up economy department at the Kecskemet college will enable students to pursue studies in economy and management from September 2016, he said.
Matolcsy said Hungary’s first university was built 700 years ago and said that once the campus is completed, Kecskemet will represent a link between a production hub and a university town.
