Cornerstone of Bulgarian cultural centre laid in Budapest
Miklós Soltész, the state secretary for church and minority relations, on Thursday laid the cornerstone of the Centre of Bulgarian Culture and Education in Budapest, and said Hungary’s government was committed to supporting ethnic minorities in the country.
Government support for ethnic minorities has grown six-fold in the past decade, Soltész said. Peace and the coexistence of various nationalities are especially important values “in these days”, Soltész said. Christo Polendakov, Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Hungary, said the new building will be a “symbol of new beginnings” for the Bulgarian community in Hungary.
