Coronavirus – 204 elderly care home residents infected in Budapest
Fully 204 residents of an elderly care home run by the municipality of Budapest have been infected by novel coronavirus, the chief medical officer told an online press briefing on Tuesday. Ten of the residents of the Pesti Road care home have died, Cecília Müller said.
Müller said she has ordered the inspection of all of Hungary’s 1,035 retirement homes, beginning with the ones housing the most people.
The chief medical officer said elderly care home residents should be placed in isolation for two weeks after being discharged from hospital.
She said
hospitals have been asked to free up 60 percent of their beds to ensure that every coronavirus patient in need can get treatment.
Though Hungary has so far avoided mass infections, the authorities are prepared for a worst-case scenario, she added.
In response to a question, she said plans were in place to examine the population’s level of immunity to the virus once the epidemic subsides.
Meanwhile, Müller said the various drugs used around the world to treat coronavirus patients are available in Hungary too.
She welcomed the 122 Covid-19 recoveries in Hungary and the recent release from intensive care of nine patients who no longer need to be on ventilators. “This is a very great achievement,” she said, thanking health-care staff for their efforts.
Meanwhile,
police officers took action against 4,692 people over the Easter holiday for breaching restrictive regulations.
Tibor Lakatos, head of the emergency centre set up by the operative board coordinating the response to the epidemic, told the same press conference that police raised charges against 69 people for gathering in groups on the southern shores of Lake Balaton.
Commenting on the easing of restrictions in several European countries, Lakatos said it was difficult to compare the status of the restrictions in the various countries considering that they are in different stages of the epidemic. This is why the government has decided to review the effectiveness of the restrictions on a weekly basis before deciding on their status, he added.

The exemplary quality – Strong – Decisive – Focused – on US – the population of our beloved Hungary, continues under our Prime Minister – Victor Orban & his Government and Party.
Totally of my support, communicated broadly – clear in its reasoning and transparency of it’s Message that it contained – the weekly review process – the status of entirely where we are as a country/society in relation to this coronavirus pandemic, by Prime Minister – Victor Orban & his Government – comforts and pleases me.
It is of great sadness, the loss of lives to the elderly, that I read has occurred in our beloved Hungary, at there stage of life, in there home, being, in a Aged Care / Nursing Home or Hostel Environment, that would have been operated and functioned to the legally required High Standards of Care & Medical Quality and Love,
This is a trend and NOT just occurring in our beloved Hungary.
WE must not be drawn into False and Incorrect Opinions and Conclusions, that our internal countries Policies & Procedures – have Failed or been Neglected or even that they are inadequate, being the reason(s) why we have lost much loved aged to this novel coronavirus pandemic.
Italy – Spain – France and the United Kingdom – these countries have NOT escaped this novel coronavirus pandemic, taking high levels of there population from Aged & Retirement Care Nursing Environments.
We must remain :
(1) – Obedient.
(2) – Disciplined.
(3) – United.
(4) – Trusting.
(5) – Responsible..
WE are ALL in this FIGHT to-gether – and from being UNITED – considering the (5) five points previous that I refer – with the Quality Leadership of our Prime Minister – Victor Orban & his Government – we can greatly limit the impact of this novel coronavirus pandemic on the Quality of our Lives, the Future of our beloved Hungary, by doing – RIGHT.
