After the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Hungary were played, Ambassador Vilayat Guliyev welcomed the guests and gave a brief introduction into the history of the short-lived First Republic.
In his address, the Deputy State Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, András Baranyi, spoke about
the bilateral relations between the two nations and expressed his satisfaction about the current level of cooperation in cultural, political and economic areas.
The reception was attended by foreign ambassadors, members of Azerbaijani community and Hungarian friends of Azerbaijan. National cuisine was offered to the guests.
The embassy of Azerbaijan is located in the 6th district’s historical Podmaniczky Palota. Following the renovation of the palace in 2007, the embassy erected a plaque on the front wall as a tribute to the great Hungarian personality.
