Discover Budapest with a local – VIDEO

Budapest Hungary tourism travel Video

The joint campaign of the Hungarian Tourism Agency and eDreams ODIGEO has the goal to present to the world the Hungarian capital and what it has to offer.

The past months have been very hard on everyone, and especially on the lovers of travel and tourism. We were not able to go abroad, visit places we have never seen before, or return to our favourite spots, wherever they might be around the world. We might have to wait to travel freely around the globe a little more, but until then, we have brought you several lovely videos about Hungary that contain very useful information for those who plan to visit this little country in the near future.

Everything you need to know about travelling to and from Hungary

This campaign conducted together with the biggest online travel agency (OTA), a web-based marketplace to research and book travel products and services, was quite successful. Altogether,

over 2.5 million people have seen these cute, short videos presenting Hungary.

5 videos were posted by the Hungarian Tourism Agency, with the help of eDreams, on their Instagram page. Their primary aim, apart from giving a sneak peek into what wonders to expect if you visit Hungary, is to boost tourism itself after these disastrous 12 months.

As turizmus.com writes, the first step was the release of two videos generating interest and motivating people to ask anything they would like to know about Budapest.

In just a matter of days, over 3,000 questions were sent by followers.

Not surprisingly, they were mostly interested in the capital’s wonderful thermal baths, in the architecture of the city, in gastronomy, in outdoor and leisure activities, but the organisers received many questions about where and how to travel around Budapest for a one-day trip.

The organisers chose one question in every topic, which was then answered with the help of a local citizen,

the face of the campaign: Dalma Horváth-Ibolya. The answers were recorded in the form of short videos shot in some iconic locations of Budapest.

The most popular video was about Hungarian gastronomy and its treasures; however, the one-minute-long video about the many possibilities of visiting a beautiful thermal bath follows with only slightly fewer views.

The campaign has reached its goal of providing tourists and all those interested in Budapest with the most frequent and most searched questions and their answers. Thus, it presents

the Hungarian capital as an ideal European destination that is easy to reach and ready to welcome anyone with open arms, wonderful activities, and places.

Take a look at two of the mentioned videos and head to the YouTube page of WOW Hungary to see even more breathtaking shots of the country. Are you already inspired to come and visit us? Let us know in a comment what the first thing is you would do or the first place you would go to in Budapest.
