Documents of amended Hungary-Vatican agreement exchanged
(MTI) – Minister for Human Resources Zoltan Balog, representing Deputy Premier Zsolt Semjen, and Apostolic Nuncio Alberto Bottari de Castello on Monday exchanged the documents of an agreement signed between Hungary and the Holy See earlier, the head of the Prime Minister’s press office said.
The deputy prime minister and the nuncio signed the documents amending a previous agreement between Hungary and the Holy See on October 21 last year, Bertalan Havasi said.
Since then, the agreement has been endorsed by both Hungary’s Parliament and Pope Francis.
The ceremony was also attended by state secretary for church, minority and NGO relations Gyorgy Holvenyi, Cardinal Peter Erdo, Bishop Antal Spanyi as well as representatives of the Prime Minister’s Office and the Foreign Ministry.
