EC launches communication campaign hailing Hungary’s 20 years in EU
The European Commission is launching a communication campaign called Happy 20th, Hungary, on the 20th anniversary of the country’s accession to the European Union, the EC’s Hungarian representation said on Monday.
The organisers said the campaign would focus on individual stories to show the positive impact of the membership. It will be broadcast on social media, ad hoardings, and a website. TV ads will be delayed in view of the flood emergency, they added.
They said the Hungarian representation of the EC is also organising open-air photo exhibitions at 3 venues in Budapest and 19 outside the capital, showing a successful EU-funded development from each county.
In 2004, Hungary had become the member of a supportive community, one that supported its efforts against the floods with the Copernicus satellite system and funding, the statement said. They added that the EU was ready to provide further support.
