Expo 2017 Astana, which opened on Saturday, is an excellent opportunity for Hungary to present its cutting-edge energy solutions, Economy Minister Mihály Varga said at the opening of the Hungarian pavilion.

The energy expo will run through September 10 and focus on energy solutions for the future, ways to reduce carbon dioxide emission and energy efficiency. More than one hundred countries participate as exhibitors in the event, which is expected to attract five million visitors.

Varga said the Hungarian pavilion presents the best, most effective and latest technologies, including renewable energy, innovative architectural solutions and alternative transport methods.

The Hungarian government considers Kazakhstan a strategic partner and wants to further strengthen bilateral ties, for which the expo serves an excellent opportunity, he added.

Hungarian Ambassador in Kazakhstan András Baranyi expressed hope that during the three-month expo, long-term partnerships will be set up that will generate joint development projects.
