Hungarian teen assaults teacher at special needs school

A teenage boy has been charged after physically assaulting a female teacher at a special needs school in the Hungarian city of Eger, following a confrontation sparked by a disciplinary warning.
The boy became aggressive after the teacher reprimanded him
According to Hungarian media reports, the incident took place in the autumn of 2024 at a local special education institution. The student became aggressive after the teacher reprimanded him for inappropriate behaviour while he was in the school corridor.
Witnesses say the boy began shouting abuse at the teacher before the situation escalated into violence. He reportedly punched the woman in the chest and then kicked her. Several staff members and students intervened, restraining the teenager and bringing the altercation to an end.

The teacher sustained minor injuries, the boy could be sentenced to prison
The teacher sustained minor injuries that healed within eight days. Although her physical injuries were not severe, the case has drawn attention due to the legal protections afforded to educators in Hungary.
