Transcarpathian Hungarian soldier from the front spoke on Hungarian TV at midnight

Change language:
An interview with a Hungarian soldier from Transcarpathia, who is serving on the frontline of the Russian-Ukrainian war, was broadcast by the Hungarian TV channel RTL at midnight, the start of the New Year. The video of Viktor Traski came on immediately after the national anthem, sung by teachers and students.
For most of 2022, teachers have been demonstrating for the renewal of education and a significant increase in their humiliatingly low pay, Telex writes. Here you can listen to the anthem sung by teachers and students of the Zoltán Kodály Elementary School of Music and Singing in Kecskemét:
Next on RTL came a video by Viktor Traski, a mathematician from Transcarpathia. The man talked about how he had volunteered for the army and had previously worked as an associate professor at the National University of Uzhhorod. On the first day of the Russian invasion, he refused to believe that Putin’s Russia had launched an attack on Ukraine. He only realised it when he received a call from the kindergarten to come and get his son because the institution was closing.
