Budapest turns into a fashion capital again: Budapest Fashion Week returns with designers from 7 countries!

Budapest Fashion Week starts for the 16th time on 1 September, featuring almost 100 designers from seven central European countries, the Hungarian Fashion and Design Agency (MDDU) said on Friday.
Designs from Czechia, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Serbia and Ukraine, as well as Hungary, will be shown during the week, including those of recently graduated fashion and textile design students of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) and the Budapest Metropolitan University (METU).
The streets, cultural spaces and shops of Budapest will be teeming with fashion industry programmes, lectures, pop-up events, promotions, showroom openings and professional forums.
On 4 September, the MOME Fashion Show and exhibition will be take place at its Zugligeti Street campus.
From 5 to 7 September, catwalk shows will take place in the Apollo Gallery and the Millenaris D building, while the National Dance Theatre will host the Fashion Hub, roundtable discussions and industry workshops over the weekend.
Foreign fashion magazine editors, renowned stylists and industry professionals are expected to attend the event, which generally attracts 5,000-6,000 people each season. Fashion Week also stimulates demand for domestic brands as well as acting as a bridge between the region’s countries, the statement said.
Around two-thirds of the brands presented will be from young designers, while the close link between design colleges and the profession is strengthened, thanks to hundreds of budding fashion tailors and seamstresses getting the chance to view the fashion shows each season, it added.
