Fencing: Gold Medal For The Junior Épée Team
The national épée team finished first placed at the youth European Cup in Plovdiv reports MTI.
The boys have got past the American, South Korean and Japanese team on their way to the last round. The opponent in the final was Spain, which the Hungarians beat to 45-23. The member of the winning team were Zsombor Bányai, Dániel Berta, Balázs Hamar and Gergely Cho Taeun.
Additionally, there were four more Hungarian medals. In women saber, Anna Mártin won whil Luca László finished third. Réka Bohus won a silver medal in foil, Dániel Berta a bronze.
In the even younger cadet age category Patrik Esztergályos won a gold medal in épée, Kinga Nagy finished second while Gergely Tóth was third placed. Flóra Pásztor also earned a bronze medal in foil. The Polish team will only play in Krakow. The main round will be in Wroclaw and Krakow, while the final and semi finals in the latter.
