Ferencváros qualify to the last 16 of the European Conference League
Ferencváros progressed as runners-up from Group F of the Conference Football League after a 1-1 draw at home to Italian finalists Fiorentina, the first-placed side from the previous competition to reach the last eight, on Thursday.
The green-and-whites took the lead at the start of the second half through Kristoffer Zachariassen’s goal, but Florence equalised through Luca Ranieri’s goal in the 73rd minute. The points draw meant Fiorentina progressed to the last eight in March as group leaders, while the Hungarian champions, who also reached the Europa League last season, will play for a place in the last 16 in February as runners-up.
On Monday, Ferencváros will be drawn in Nyon to face one of the third-placed teams in the Europa League group stage.
