FIDESZ: Hungary has second lowest gas prices in EU
Budapest, June 30 (MTI) – Thanks to government mandated cuts to utility fees, Hungary has the second lowest price of natural gas in the European Union based on purchasing power parity (PPP), Fidesz MP Szilard Nemeth told a press conference in Budapest on Tuesday.
Whereas in 2010 Hungary was the country where consumers had to pay the most for gas in the EU, now only Romania has lower gas prices, based on PPP exchange rates, he said.
Nemeth said the trends in the price of electricity were similar — only Bulgaria has lower prices today.
