The European Parliament resolution adopted last week “is a pro-war manifesto urging us to deliver fighter jets and long-range missile systems to Ukraine”, Fidesz MEP Balázs Hidvéghi said on Tuesday.
All that is left now that tanks, fighter jets and missiles have been pledged to Ukraine is the deployment of soldiers, which would be tantamount to sparking a world war, Hidvéghi said in a video statement.
“The Western world is mired in collective pro-war psychosis, just like in 1914 at the outbreak of the first world war,” he said. “We’re on the edge of an abyss, and most Brussels politicians are marching forward blindly,” he added, adding that Hungary “must stay out of this war in all events”.
All effort must be directed towards a ceasefire and a peace agreement, yet Brussels “has imposed sanctions on us”, and Europeans are paying the price, the Fidesz politician said.
Shea Bradley-Farrell, the president of Counterpoint Institute, on Tuesday told a conference in Budapest that the Biden government’s actions in connection with the Russia-Ukraine war were not serving the interests of the United States.
At the conference titled “Of Hungary: The last bastion of freedom in Europe”, the foreign policy and national security expert said she believed in Ukraine’s sovereignty, but would not think that it was in the US’s interest to allow an escalation of the war.
She praised Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for “boosting national sovereignty” and Hungary for keeping its independence and standing up for its interests. “Hungarians insist on keeping their sovereignty and their identity,” she said.
Bradley-Farrell praised Orbán’s call to “play according to our own rules”. In the US, the “faith in God and the family are under attack”, and the country has lost its social balance, she said. She said that while patriotism was often conflated with authoritarianism, it was important for both Hungary and Europe.
A conservative US government “would be able to change the course of the Russia-Ukraine war,” she said. Miklós Szánthó, the director of the event-host Centre for Fundamental Rights, said Bradley-Farrell was the first foreign guest researcher, at work on a book on Hungarian politics for US readers.

“Of Hungary: The last bastion of freedom in Europe”, already the title tells you that the participants are delusional. We are not the last bastion of freedom, more of a place where democracy goes to die. We want all of the benefits of NATO and the EU membership without the adult responsibility of standing up to Putin for his war. We made the same blind bad decision in WW1 and WW2 to go against our own interests by the rulers here and ending up with a much diminished country. Orban claimed to be a freedom fighter, but without the push of the EU and the US he would be sitting next to Putin right now in Orbanistan.
Always a worry when someone starts off with “faith in God and the family are under attack” – here comes the Boogeyman!
The Counterpoint Institute (an NGO – weren’t they supposed to be Evil?) is so stealth they’re not even on the Mediabias radar, yet: https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/?s=counterpoint+institute
Oh – wait. They have 1,114 Followers on Twitter!
Can’t wait for the book on Hungarian politics, though. Neue Zuercher Zeitung already took a stab and it’s a great read, even in translation mode: https://www.nzz.ch/suche?q=ungarn&filter=m1
12 man FBI swat team- guns drawn raided the home of a young father of 7 children for saying the rosary too close to a abortion clinic and protecting his 12 year old son who was shoved and sworn at.
All charges had been dropped by local authorities. The man was taken away by the FBI and put on trial. The good news is he found not guilty, but just one of the many stories of the Biden Gestapo. You don’t have to beleive me- look it up.
Maybe you haven’t heard of 30 man swat team who raided the former president home. If you are not going to accept this comment- let me know so I don’t waste my time.
