The finance ministry has announced a second round of 6 billion forints (EUR 18.4m) in funding this year for job-creating investments at microbusinesses and SMEs.

The funding could support the creation of some 3,000 jobs and the preservation of several thousand more at almost 600 SMEs, Mihály Varga told MTI.

Businesses may apply for 1.5 million forints in funding for each new job created. This funding may be topped up with 700,000 forints for adding to payroll workers from employment agencies or with 1.5 million for hiring mothers with young children or anybody who has been employed exclusively in fostered work programmes during the previous year.

An additional 400,000 forint top-up is available to businesses that invest in underdeveloped areas.

Applications for the funding are being accepted from July 23 until September 10, 2018.
