As the restrictions have been eased Hungary and especially Budapest comes alive. Bars, cafés and confectioneries open alongside with many shops and malls in the city. As the good weather approaches, more and more people can be seen sitting on the terraces of these bars. Waiters and all the workers are obliged to wear face masks to take care of the guests, and at the same time, costumers need to keep the 1.5-meter distance to protect each other. Here are five places where you can spend some time safely in Budapest.
Shot Bar & Café
Let us start with one of the most popular bars of Budapest. Shot Bar is located on the Boulevard between Wesselényi and Király Street (tram line 4–6). The place is famous for its many cocktails and small shots made out of vodka with different kind of syrups added to it. The place also sells delicious mojitos and lemonades to cool you off in the upcoming summer season.
Famous for its magnificent Danube view next to the Liberty Bridge, Bálna Terasz offers refreshing drinks, cocktails and several meals like hamburgers, pasta, cakes and has a wide variety of coffee selection. Currently, the place operates with a limited number of tables to avoid many people sitting too close to each other. Table reservation, therefore, is temporarily out of the options, and the place welcomes guests on a first-come-first-served basis.
The place in Károly Kert is a calm, quiet and harmonic bistro away from the noise of the city surrounded by trees and nature. The place offers unique alcoholic coffees and has a wide variety of different wines.
Not far from Rákóczi Bridge with an exceptional view on the River Danube this is a place where exciting flavours cherish people. Alongside with drinks and coffees, you can enjoy a delicious lunch and dinner in the restaurant. The terrace of Le Bistro awaits everyone who would like to have a unique gastronomy experience.
Located at Március 15-e Square (tram line two, not far from Fővám Square) the restaurant offers a delicious experience from 8 am every morning with an exclusive breakfast selection. For those who do not like to get up early, KIOSK provides lunch and dinner with meals like green herb mushroom soup, Dubarry pork, steamed beef, peanut praliné and royal chocolate dessert.
