Barbara Palvin surprised her fans on Sunday afternoon by sharing a photo from a hospital bed on her X and Instagram accounts. In a lengthy caption, the world-famous Hungarian model revealed that she had undergone surgery for suspected endometriosis—and, for the first time, experienced what it feels like to have a period without unbearable pain.

The Hungarian supermodel’s candid message

The 31-year-old model spoke candidly about the challenges she has endured in recent years, including extreme fatigue, irregular and heavy bleeding, and such severe cramps that she would often spend nights lying on the bathroom floor. For a long time, she believed these symptoms were simply a “normal” part of menstruation.

Although she regularly attended gynaecological check-ups, endometriosis was never raised as a possibility. After three months of testing, she underwent surgery which, she says, transformed her life completely.

“Since then, I’ve experienced what a lighter period feels like, and now I understand what a huge difference it makes,” she wrote in her X post.

Barbara emphasized that her own story shows just how important it is for women to pay attention to their bodies and seek medical care early. “If you suspect you might have endometriosis, don’t wait! Early diagnosis and treatment make all the difference,” she advised her followers.
