Important: Croatia follows Slovakia and Austria in introducing border restrictions to Hungary

Change language:
Due to the foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) outbreak in odd-toed ungulates, Slovakia and Austria are followed by Croatia, which now imposes temporary border controls.
In Croatia, from 15 April 2025, two border crossing points, Udvar (Duboševica) and Letenye (Goričan), will be open to drivers transporting ungulates and products derived from ungulates; all such vehicles will be disinfected and certified.
Compulsory cleaning, washing and disinfection measures also apply to empty road vehicles used to transport live animals susceptible to foot-and-mouth disease or raw milk. Such vehicles must undergo disinfection before entering Croatia and must be accompanied by an official certificate of such disinfection which must be presented at the request of the competent authority.
There are still no checks on persons at the Hungarian-Croatian border.
