There’s a rare chance to experience a unique outing in Hungary’s capital: the iconic Ikarus buses, over 50 years old, are back in service on winter weekends!
Nostalgic Ikarus rides in the heart of Budapest
The Transport Museum offers a moving time-travel experience aboard the Ikarus 311 and Ikarus 66 “Faros” buses, taking visitors to some of the city’s most beloved spots as part of the “Mozgó Múzeum” series, the Hungarian News Agency wrote.

Details of the nostalgic rides:
- Buses: Ikarus 311 from 1971 and the legendary 1963 Faros Ikarus 66
- When: December 2025 and January 2026, on weekends
- Departure: Saturdays and Sundays at 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM from the Angels of Verona (Verona Angyalai) stop, located between the Kunsthalle and the Museum of Ethnography. The approximately 50-minute circular route passes through scenic parts of Buda, traffic permitting.

Ticket prices:
- Adult: HUF 5600 (EUR 15)
- Discounted (ages 2–18, over 62; free under 2): HUF 2400 (EUR 6)
- Family ticket (2 adults + 2 children): HUF 11,000 (EUR 30)
