You may enjoy boat rides for free in Budapest until tomorrow evening!

Uber is celebrating its one-year anniversary in Budapest with a unique surprise: the launch of its city sightseeing boat service on the Danube, called Uber Boat. The company also marked a major milestone by expanding to Miskolc on 13 June, making it the second Hungarian city after Budapest where users can hail rides through the app.
Sightseeing from a new perspective in Budapest
Uber Boat offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to admire the capital’s iconic landmarks not from the typical city streets, but from the waters of the Danube. According to Telex, the 15-minute sightseeing cruises depart from and return to Dock 8A near Vigadó Square. The service is operated in partnership with Duna Port Ltd., which provides fully licensed boats and experienced crews to ensure an unforgettable experience.

To celebrate the launch, Uber is offering free boat rides from 12 to 14 June. Starting 15 June through 31 August, each trip will cost HUF 30,000 (EUR 75). Reservations can be made through the Uber app. During the promotional period, boats run from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM; from 15 June onward, operating hours will be from noon to 8:00 PM.

With this launch, Budapest joins the ranks of iconic places like London, Venice, Paris, Athens, and Ibiza, where Uber has previously introduced water-based transport options such as Uber Yacht and Uber Cruise.
Uber expands: Miskolc to join the network
Uber has officially moved beyond the capital’s borders: as of 13 June, its services are now available in Miskolc, marking another major Hungarian city where app-based ride-hailing is an option, BOON.hu reports. Since its Budapest relaunch last summer, passengers have logged more than 23 million kilometres using Uber rides, and the user base continues to grow, with the company estimating nearly half a million users in Budapest alone.
By launching its boat service and expanding to regional cities, Uber aims to solidify its presence in the Hungarian market. The company’s mission is to enhance urban transportation with innovative solutions, whether through traditional taxi options or scenic boat rides on the Danube.
