One of the world’s most recognisable chefs is bringing his restaurant empire to Hungary. The Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill will officially open its doors in Budapest on 31 July 2026, marking the brand’s first-ever Central European location.
The new restaurant will be located inside the Dorothea Hotel, Budapest, Autograph Collection, becoming another major addition to the capital’s rapidly expanding fine dining and luxury hospitality scene.
Why Budapest was chosen
According to Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global, Budapest’s growing reputation as one of Europe’s most exciting tourist and culinary destinations made it the natural choice for the group’s regional expansion, Turizmus.com writes.
Andy Wenlock, CEO of Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global, said the project combines the company’s international expertise with the experience and commitment of the local team, creating a strong foundation for long-term success in Central Europe.
The opening also strengthens the ongoing partnership between Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global and Marriott International, which began in 2019 with the launch of the first Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square.
A London-style grill with Hungarian inspiration
The Budapest venue will bring the lively atmosphere of London’s premium grill restaurants and bars to the Hungarian capital while incorporating local culinary influences. The approximately 160-seat restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, accompanied by an extensive wine list featuring hundreds of labels and a comprehensive cocktail menu.
Guests can expect many of Gordon Ramsay’s signature dishes, including:
- premium grilled meats,
- the classic Fish & Chips,
- the chef’s famous Beef Wellington,
- a raw bar selection,
- and reinterpretations of traditional Hungarian dishes.
The concept aims to blend classic British-American grill cuisine with Hungarian gastronomy, offering both international visitors and locals a distinctive dining experience.
Joining an impressive culinary line-up
The Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill will become part of the growing collection of internationally renowned restaurants housed within the landmark Dorothea Hotel, designed by Italian architect Piero Lissoni. It joins the hotel’s existing restaurants created by Spanish Michelin-starred chef Dani García: Alelí, Anton by Alelí, and BiBo Budapest.
Angela Saliba, multi-property general manager of the Dorothea Hotel, said the collaboration enhances Budapest’s international gastronomic profile while transforming the historic building itself into a culinary destination.
Reservations are already open
Although the official opening is still weeks away, eager diners can already secure a table, with online reservations now available through the restaurant’s booking platform.
